About Leilani Lum

L. Leilani Lum is my pen name. I'm a multi-ethnic woman with a deep background in wordsmithing.

I feels driven to write the kind of genre fiction I've preferred throughout my life — contemporary, historical, romantic, paranormal, science fiction, speculative, fantasy, cross-genre, and more. Works I find most appealing are quirky and unexpected; flawed characters and second chances draw my in. I'm committed to diversity in storytelling and to embracing the female gaze.

Works in progress:

• A cross-genre collection of sci-fi/fantasy/horror with a feminist bent is due 3Q2017.
• A collection of interstitial short stories and a novella based on Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice is expected by 1Q2018
• Publication of my first original novel — a rebooted work by a 19th century French author is anticipated mid-2018. This time the story is told from a woman's point of view with a few new twists.
